Portfólio da Duomo
COWORK NEUROARQ

In February 2021, Duomo Architectura, through architect Leonardo Villela, completes the Continuing Education course at Academy of Applied Neuroscience to Architecture.

During more than a year we learned the influences of themes such as biophilia, colors, shapes, sounds, aromas. Did we learn or did science show us? Because we all have different feelings and certainties that these interventions in space cause us so much well-being!

So it is with great pleasure that we publish here our TCC with an emphasis on corporate spaces. We chose a real case of an ongoing project in our office. A Coworking to be implemented in an Imperial Historic House in São Cristovão.

Our main concept was based on scientific evidence which suggests that: artistic and historical settings have as much restorative power as nature. We base this concept on attributes of Biophilic Design such as historical connection and culture with the place, spirit of the place, natural materials.

In this project, we seek to reinforce this theme using the property’s original materials as an instrument for this historical connection. In addition to other suggested applications for the user’s well-being, such as: green walls, natural lighting reinforcement with maximum ceiling height, light painting of the “slab” and acoustic adjustment with specific elements.

In the external environment, we try to work with #designbiophilic attributes of connecting the outer space with the interior. We call the back area “PLAZA space”!

Elements such as green walls, garden boxes on the mezzanine #games, imperial palm tree and historical coverings such as Portuguese stone reinforce the concept. In addition to being perfectly suited to the philosophy of a #coworking.
